Without fan
The Stûv 16, in contrast to previous inserts, has been designed to operate without a fan. The fan is optional.
The official efficiency measurements (75 - 80%) were carried out on stoves not equipped with a fan.
- no electrical connection required,
- easy installation, particularly with regard to replacing an old insert,
With fan
Stûv 16s fitted with a fan see a 6 to 7% improvement in their efficiency according to measurements carried out by the Stûv laboratory.
This enables significant volumes of air to be displaced, room temperature to be made constant and even the circulation of hot air into a neighbouring room to be created.
A large fan is fitted to the Stûv 16. This turns slowly and does not therefore make any noise. Its position beneath the stove also contributes to noise reduction.
It can be accessed from inside the stove for maintenance purposes.
The fan improves the circulation of hot air in the room and makes room temperature constant.
A fan (fitted under the stove for example) sucks in room air via a network of ducts in the furthest parts of the room or neighbouring rooms preventing the gathering of thick dust on the ground. A depression is created and consequently a return of heated air through carefully positioned openings.
