The Stûv 60 was designed in 1982.
At the time, it was simply called Stûv.

Stûv was made up of two people - the founders of the company, who did not have a laboratory, sophisticated measuring instruments or even a computer.
The Stûv 60 was therefore developed with common sense and through observation, but the objectives were the same as those of today :
reconciling the pleasures of the fire with a high-performance mode of heating.
