In 1983, Gérard Pitance and Benoît Lafontaine joined forces to found Concept et Forme, a product design office.

In the early 1980s, industrial designer Gérard Pitance was looking for a fire to heat the house that he had decided to live in.
When he couldn’t find anything satisfactory on the market, he decided to design a product to fulfil his own criteria. The reactions from the people around him were so enthusiastic that he decided to market this model.

This very first Stûv already contained all the elements that make Stûv an innovative, different company: combining the pleasures of fire with an efficient heating system, an enclosed fire that also works as an open fire...

From Isnes to Bois-de-Villers, the team grew and the company began to take shape.

Red Dot Design Award 2016 for the pelelt stove Stûv P-10

Stûv won the Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category for its Stûv P-10 pellet stove. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world. The panel of judges, made up of 41 international experts, was won over by the technological innovations, the clean design, the environmental aspects and the functions of the Stûv P-10.
